Riley RMs in the Movies

I’ve been tinkering with the Riley recently. I removed the tow bar, fixed the seat so it slides back and forth and removed the Morris rear lights, which I’ve always hated the sight of and adjusted the tickover so you don’t have to worry about it stalling at junctions.

All rather mundane but it keeps me out of trouble. More exciting is finding similar Riley RMs in old films. Here we have two very different films. First a 1951 British film called No Highway in the Sky starring James Stewart, Marlene Dietrich and Glynis Johns and a RIley RMA. The French film could not be more different, nor more French.  It was made much later, in 1960, and starred Jean-Paul Belmondo, Alexandra Stewart, Claude Brasseur and Sylva Koscina and a Riley RM with a striped roof. The clip below lives up to the title of the film as you will see.  Enjoy 🙂
